Comments by Matt Fuerst Rating: 3	Mark and I set out for the first official restaurant of our Great Chili trek, and were disappointed as our choice, Freddie's Diner in West Bloomfield, MI was closed. For the day, permanently, we weren't exactly sure. So we set off for option #2, which happened to be a few hundred yards down the road, the Green Apple. Green Apple chili unfortunetly left me a little disappointed. It was served in a reasonable sized bowl, and we were offered raw onion and cheese as options (at extra cost) which I consider a bonus. However, in chili, the extras are good and fun, but the chili has to stand up the muster by itself before you add extra goodness to it. Sadly, the Green Apple doesn't have a leg to stand on. The feature of Green Apple chili that will leave an impression on you is it's sheer lack of flavor. It's really surprising since the chili itself is quite stuffed with ingredients: peppers, beans and hamburger are all present in large quantities. Add on top the raw onion and grated cheese... there are even flakes of spices that clung to the side of the bowl, and yet in spite of all this it was at best a bland flavor. Unbelieveable! All this, plus a pretty hefty price tag leads to Green Apple being pretty missable.
Comments by Mark Everest Rating: 3	Everything about the experience was great right up until I tried the chili. It looked great. Had large chunks of stuff. It just didn't have any flavor. Mashed potatoes have more flavor than the chili. I'm not quite sure where it went because I can see stuff in the bowl that should produce something on my taste buds.

Matt and Holly	Hey all, We just wanted to update you on the Milford House. We stopped in again this evening, and the French Onion Soup was more than a bit disappointing. We were excited with the cheese content, the first thing you see when the soup hits the table, but where'd the onions go? I think our soup contained about 6 strands of onions between 2 bowls! C'mon! All bread, broth and cheese. Don't get me wrong, all those are important, but it is called French Onion Soup. Not French Cheese Bread Broth Soup. You get me? We'll be checking back again and seeing if they change their onion content back to the good levels!
Chuck and Carter	Green Apple is one of our usual places. Carter rates the GA chili as good as his own..."they must have broken in to my home one night and stole my receipe!!!" Myself, I enjoy the fish and chips, with the best coleslaw in all Waterford it is one of the better meal deals.
