|Disappointment. Papagos definately teased me and Mark with potential and didn't deliver. Papagos is a bit of an odd mix, it's a Southwestern and Mediterranean inexpensive and fast food, yet sit down restaurant. Definetly an eclectic mix. They featured both Beef and Turkey chili on the menu and promise a "Hot Bowl made with Fresh Ingredients". Even the smell in the air was promising.|
Sadly, the last time I was that disappointed was during the Circus Circus incident. It seems like the recipe for Papagos chili is as follows: Open can of Hormel. Add taco seasoning. Add water. Heat. Blah! No heat, little flavor, just a bowl of disappointment.

|I was more than a little disappointed in Matt's choice of the week: Papagos. Papagos is a little sit down place that offers Mexican and Mediterranean food. There are red-pepper Christmas lights hung around the windows and a sombrero resting on a cactus. The chili here will definitely have heat!|
The beef chili (turkey available as well) was served in a Styrofoam cup. Not good. Serve it in a real bowl for crying out loud. Anyway, no cheese, no onion, just taco flavored meat in a Hormel type base. It had a few beans but nothing major. No heat. Come on. I threw in some 'hot sauce' - still nothin.
Matt and I both ordered two tacos to go with the crappy chili. One beef, one chicken. The beef one was not good. Dry, and tasteless. The chicken taco was just down right terrible. How do you screw up a taco!?
Matt, in an attempt to smooth over the terrible choice in restaurants, said "But, I had chicken quesadillas and they were good". Nice try - I won't be back.
|Matt Fuerst||I am proud to say that Papagos is now officially closed. I'd like to think our chili warning out to the public had something to do with this change. In even more exciting news, a Mexico Lindo Express is moving in. Mexico Lindo is a Mexican restaurant in Waterford that has the best fajitas on the planet (and I've eaten genuine fajitas in Mexico). Delicious and dangerous (since the Express will be about 3/4 of a mile from my house).|
