Thanks for another visit trusty readers... We trekked out yet another week in search of the perfect bowl of chili. We bantered this morning for a long while, both agreeing we were pretty much tapped when it came to chili joints to try. When we first started our trek we had a big list on the work whiteboard of places we wanted to try. The list is pretty much empty now (except for the Tee Bonez incident, a story that will one day see light) and we're tapped on fresh ideas. We were talking up places near the mall and decided to check out Red Robin.. home of the multi-meat hamburger extraordinare.

We arrived at the Robin and there was a big chili push going on. Sitting right on the table is an advertisement shaped like a bowl of chili with pictures of their chili, chili fries and chili cheeseburger on it. Since the chili picture looked pretty inviting, we considered it a very promising start. We each ordered up a cup of chili and a burger.

The chili arrived and it was accurate to the picture. There are lots of chunks of goodness in it, surrounded by a little bit of liquid and good chunks of humburger and beans. Lots of veggies were freshly chopped and added to the brew, you could tell just by looking at it. Lots of peppers, tomatoes and fresh onion was present and accounted for. The taste was very similar to CJ's... I could literally taste freshness in every bite. I've never had a bite of chili and actively thought I tasted a "canned" flavor, but when you have a bite of CJ's or Red Robin you CAN taste freshness. It's really refreshing and nice.

Recommended... if you at a Red Robin, try the chili. If you're out looking for a good bowl of chili, turn your car towards a local Red Robin, give it a shot and come back and tell me how right I was.

I've been to Red Robin several times and never thought to check if they have chili. I looked it up on their awful website and saw that they do in fact offer Red's Homemade Chili Chili (sic). We're there! Matt and I met my wife, Judy and my niece, CJ for lunch.

On the table was an advertisement for their chili so now I'm really looking forward to trying it. It looked very good. I ordered a cup and a Whiskey River BB-Q Burger.

I was very happy with the chili. It didn't have any heat to speak of but was full of flavor and had a unique taste. It came with tortilla strips and onions on top. The chili had the right amount of beans and chunks of veggies and meat.

The very good chili along with WRB burger was an excellent lunch.

Go there.
