SOLD! - June 26, 2004 I met a gentleman from Grand Rapids in East Lansing and we concluded the transaction for my 2000 Subaru. Thank you all very much for your interest.
My 2000 Outback Limited for sale, located in Milford, MI (Oakland County). Basic information:
The remaining balance of the factory powertrain warranty is in effect until the 60,000 mile mark. Car was ordered and purchased from Hodges Subaru in Ferndale, MI. All service work was completed at Hodges Subaru, this includes the following, with receipts and documentation for all work to be provided to buyer:
Complete 15,000 mile service
Complete 30,000 mile service
Complete 45,000 mile service
New pads and rotor work at 45,000 miles
Head gasket treatment applied (head gaskets are now covered until 100,000 mile mark)
The tires are newer, with lots of tread life remaining (Michele X-Ones). I had planned on waiting for a sunny day to take pics but it's been gloomy for a few days in a row. You can click on any of the pictures to get the full sized versions.
Known Problems
Crack along front bumper
Sunshade on rear moonroof refuses to go back manually. When opening moonroof itself, sunshade retracts appropriately. I assume that the sunshade has popped out of it's tracks.
Some general information and reviews of the Subaru Outback:
cursurvery.org - Unbiased reviews of the 2000 Outback. Both good and bad.
InternetAutoGuide.com review. "If you enjoy driving, take a test drive in the Subaru Outback. It is much more pleasant for highway use than a sport-utility vehicle. Yet it offers the utility and cargo capacity of similar-sized SUVs. With its all-wheel drive system it has little trouble venturing off the highway."
AutoWire.net review. "The 165-horsepower flat four feels as peppy as a six... It looks like another winner for Subaru"
New Car Test Drive review. "The Outback provides more power and better handling than the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. It is smoother and more pleasant on the highway than truck-based sport-utility vehicles. A brilliant all-wheel-drive system offers sure-footed traction in all conditions."
AutoRevista.com review. "The Outback Limited is classy and rugged at the same time. It's the closest thing to being all things to all people all (wheel drive) the time."
